15th November 2015 – Leigh Woods, Bristol

Nightingale Valley is a rocky Carboniferous limestone woodland on the southern side of the Avon Gorge. Plasteurhynchium striatulum, Taxiphyllum wissgrillii, Heterocladium heteropterum var. flaccidum, Hygrohypnum luridum and Nowellia curvifolia have been found and other uncommon species are certainly possible. If time allows we can also explore disused quarries close to the river at the bottom.

Meet at the western end of North Road at around ST555730; plenty of free road-side parking is available here.

Leader: Sharon Pilkington.
